The Legend of Altın Yunus
According to legend, the shores where Altın Yunus is located once hosted a small fishing village. A boy named Hermais lived there with his family. One day, while Hermais and his friends were playing in the sea, a sudden storm broke out. As the waves rose, the children returned to shore, but Hermais was nowhere to be found…
For days, his mother waited on the shore, believing her son would return. Years passed, and one day a fisherman saw a dolphin carrying a child with golden hair on its back over the sea. However, neither the fisherman could reach them, nor did Hermais return to his village.
The dolphin took care of Hermais for many years, becoming his closest friend and protector. As time passed, Hermais grew old and passed away. His faithful friend, the dolphin, carried him to the shore, never to return to the sea. The people never forgot this unique friendship; they immortalized it by turning them into a golden statue.
